It’s true, I care about the TaTas of the world. For the last 15 years I have been a participant in some way or another in the CIBC Run For the Cure. For several years I was an event co-ordinator and loved every minute of it. This year I am going to run (okay okay, I’ll be walking) the 5km for the cure and I would love to have many of you join The Spicy Divas in walking in Victoria on October 5th with me.
My goal personally is to raise $1,000 for the cause and as a team I would like for us to raise at least $3,000 but of course more would be wonderful. It is so easy to join and so easy to fundraise online with this organization. They set you up with your own personal website to send supporters to and allow people to donate using their credit cards and receive email tax receipts to be used as a write-off at the end of the year.
These are all just numbers and gibberish to many of you, but the reality is that every little bit of money, time and/or effort that can be given toward this cause is much appreciated and well received. This event is run by volunteers and is an extremely important part of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundations efforts toward saving TaTas everywhere.
Most of all, I would like to see everyone give what they can toward breast cancer research and education. As many women have fallen victim to this disease, including some of my own family, I feel very strongly there is nothing that I would rather be spending my time supporting. I never did get to meet my great grandmother as she died from the disease before I was born.
If you would like more information on the research being done, how the money is being used or the education and advocacy programs, please click here.
So there you have it. Every year this event is A LOT of fun! So, young or old, tall or small, human or animal, I would love for you all to join The Spicy Divas or donate to my team so that we can save the TaTas of the world!
